Not every wine and food pairing has to be anchored around meat. There are many fantastic ways to pair wine with vegetarian dishes.

Pairing wine with vegetarian food can be quite simple. Match acidity and weight with your wine. A more savory or smoky dish does well with medium- to full-bodied wines. A softer dish is best balanced with light-bodied and low acidity wines.
Vegetarian dishes could be anything from a mushroom risotto with nice umami flavor to light and bright salads. Pairing wine with vegetarian dishes isn’t as tricky as you’d think, though.
